Classic story retellings are always a regular go-to for authors who want to make a change. Percival Everett is the example of an author going above and beyond in his piece "James". His retelling of "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" from Mark Twain is a beautifully composed art piece. Though fiction, I still found myself believing James' experience over Huck Finn's. The constant battle of identity and ethics had me on the edge of my seat. Not only was Everett's book highlighted on New York Times and Barnes and Noble, but also referenced in some colleges. Educators understand and respect the moral lessons written, hoping their students will learn from it as well. "James" by Percival Everett could become a text that could be referenced in generations to come. Those of us who have read it can already say that we grew significantly.

Book one and two were heartfelt stories of romance and battle, but this third book does something different. It has united our communities upon indifference. Now, I will not mention too much of the world we live in, but each person has their own struggles and reservations everyday. The U.S. has become divided on multiple fronts. This book is something many have in common. The strong bonds with Onyx Storm can be seen on TikTok, Facebook, Twitter, and other platforms. Though things are tough, the Empyrean are worth every penny and moment spent. Yarros has not only created what could only be called a cult of readers, but also a community of passion, romance, and adventure.
